College Lacrosse 2010 now available via Xbox LIVE

Congratulations are in order for Carlo Sunseri, who has finally secured clearance to offer College Lacrosse 2010 via XBox Live’s ‘Indie Games’ channel. The game, which is the first lacrosse offering since the late, semi-lamented Blast Lacrosse on PlayStation I, sells for 400 points ($5) and can be played online against friends.

The game features customizable uniforms/equipment, full season mode, mini training games, and many other aspects that were missing from its indoor-style predecessor.

For more information on the game and how to purchase it, visit www.collegelacrosse2010.com. You can also check it out at XBoxLive’s Marketplace , where the game has racked up a stellar 4.5 star rating with over 400 reviews in its first 24 hours.

If you decide to get let me now what you think I bought the game yesterday and it's really good although it lacks details. Hopefully it gets good enough ratings to were the NCAA will set out a game that has the details the game lacks..

Big day for Brandon Benn

Brandon Benn, a senior at Culver Military Academy, signed a National Letter of Intent Friday afternoon to play lacrosse at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Md. Benn, an attack for the Eagles, is listed by Inside Lacrosse magazine as the 38th best player in the country. During his career with CMA, Benn has been a member of two state championship teams, been named offensive Most Valuable Player of the state tournament both years, been named to the all-state team both years, and was named an All-American his junior year. The Orangeville, Ont. native scored 85 goals and had 22 assists during his junior season and 65 goals and 21 assists his sophomore year. Johns Hopkins is one of the top teams in the league and if you make the team you are pretty damn good, and Brandon makes the cut.

Duke presents the new season's captains

Duke University men's lacrosse head coach has announced the appointment of Ned Crotty, Sam Payton, Max Quinzani and Parker McKee as team captains for the 2010 season. The quartet of veterans will lead the Blue Devils in their quest for a fourth straight ACC Championship and NCAA Tournament appearance.

Crotty and Payton both served as captains in 2009, while Quinzani and McKee also earned their teammates recognition for their leadership skills. The captains are decided solely on a team vote.

"I'm delighted that the team overwhelmingly vote to return [Ned Crotty] and [Sam Payton] as captains this year," Danowski said. "It shows great confidence in their abilities to lead the team."

"For Max and Parker, I'm really happy for them," Danowski said. "These two guys came here not knowing what to expect or if what the program was going to be. They have been rewarded for their loyalty and vision of what could be for Duke lacrosse. These four guys will undoubtedly do great things for us on and off the field of competition this year."

Hopefully the Blue Devils can get to a championship and them and UNC can battle it out, of course UNC will win but there's nothing like a Duke vs. UNC game, in any sport..

Getting Billy ready for the season

Attackman Billy Bitter was one of the top stories of the 2009 season, breaking out with 71 total points and first-team All-American honors. His eight goals on nine shots performance against UMBC set the rest of Division I on notice heading into 2010 (as well as earned him two 2009 Laxie Awards, as voted on by the fans).

This fall, Coach Breschi and crew have been working with Bitter to help him deal with the expected defensive attention this season with out adding more to his offensive load.

“I don’t know so much about putting more pressure on Billy. He has enough on his shoulders,” says Breschi. “He’s a marked guy now, and teams will be focusing on him, trying to stop him. We want to get him better seeing the field individually, work on distributing and understanding slides and how quickly they will come to him, as well as dealing with shutoffs. We want to prepare him for that now.”

Also a priority for Coach Breschi, finding dodgers to help alleviate the defensive pressure facing Bitter. Senior Gavin Petracca sat out the fall, allowing Thomas Wood, freshman Marcus Holman and Onondaga transfer Ed Prevost opportunities to showcase their skill.

Movember

When senior Virginia defenseman Ken Clausen was on a family vacation in Fiji last year over Christmas break, he ran into two gentlemen from Australia. The trio struck up a conversation when they discovered a handlebar mustache tattooed along the outside of Clausen’s left forefinger, just between the forefinger and the middle digit. During their chance encounter, Clausen learned about a recent phenomenon, Movember, an annual event symbolized with the growing of mustaches. The run-in thus ignited Clausen’s charge for prostate cancer awareness and the commencement of the inaugural “Mustache Madness.” I personally had told all my friends to do this last month, but i really had no idea that this was a real tradition I heard girls making bets on who can not shave their legs for the longest so I thought why not do it with a mustache for guys, While going on inside lacrosse I read this and found out about movember so if you wanna help and try and grow a cool stache dont shave!
